Building Before the Rain

Trusting God's Warning in a Comfortable World1.

Introduction: The Warning Before the Rain

Noah built for 120 years with no rain in sight, trusting God's word before any evidence appeared (Hebrews 11:7). Are we building in faith, or going about business as usual, deaf to the warning? • Faith = being certain of what we do not see Notes: ______________________

Jesus and Paul described the last days: wars, disasters, cold love, self-love, and scoffing at God. Scoffing at Christ's return is itself a sign (2 Peter 3:3-4), yet God isn't slow — He's patient (2 Peter 3:9). • When you see these things, His return is near (Matthew 24:32-33) Application: Signs are meant to create alertness, not fear. Notes: ______________________

Only 8 people entered the ark. The rest were just eating, drinking, and marrying — ignoring an extraordinary warning (Luke 17:26-27). Comfortable unbelief drifts in through small compromises, and "the Lord closed the door" (Genesis 7:16). • Is prayer a last resort? Is your Bible collecting dust? Application: Name one area of complacency and bring it to God in repentance. Notes: ______________________

Noah didn't just believe — he built (Genesis 6:22). Jesus calls us to be "ready all the time" (Matthew 24:44). 1. **Prayer** — stay watchful (Luke 21:36) 2. **Evangelism** — be a preacher of righteousness (2 Peter 2:5) 3. **Holy living** — pursue purity as we wait (2 Peter 3:11,14) Application: Choose one concrete way you will build this week. Notes: ______________________

Noah's door eventually closed, but the door of grace through Jesus is still open (John 10:9; Romans 10:9). Whether you've never trusted Christ or have drifted into complacency, the invitation stands today. • Trust the warning now, and be found building when He returns Notes: ______________________
